  • Inventory is very limited due to current demand, and laptops are only being distributed to students at this time.
  • Reservations are required and available on a first-come, first-served basis, and can be made two weeks in advance of the pick-up/delivery date.
  • Checkout items are currently being issued for the duration of the academic quarter.


If you are experiencing financial hardship and are unable to afford the technology you need to be academically successful, email the Financial Aid Office to determine if there are any resources available to assist you.


  • Tech Rental equipment may be borrowed for academic use only.
  • Reservations will be canceled if equipment is not picked up at the scheduled time.
  • Laptops are remotely locked if not returned within 1 hour of the scheduled return time.
  • Cal Poly is not responsible for damage to personal equipment used in conjunction with Tech Rental equipment.
  • Equipment must be returned in the condition in which it was received. Lost or damaged equipment will be charged to you at current replacement costs.
  • Failure to return items within 1 hour of the scheduled return time will result in late fees of $15 per day. Unpaid fees or equipment damage costs result in the suspension of your equipment rental account, and an academic hold is placed on your student record (affecting your ability to register for classes or graduate).
