COVID-19 Tech Rentals

The Tech Rentals service has been modified for summer quarter, in response to COVID-19.

  • Pick-up/drop-off is located in Building 46 (the Natatorium) on Tuesdays & Fridays: 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. 
  • Checkouts last the duration of the quarter. When making a new reservation, select an end date between Tuesday, September 1 - Friday, September 11 to return checked out items. 
  • Reservations are required and available on a first-come-first-serve basis and can be made two (2) weeks in advance of the pickup/delivery date.

Policies

  • Tech Rental equipment may be borrowed for academic use only.
  • Laptops are remotely locked if not returned within 1 hour of the scheduled return time.
  • Windows laptops have been rented from a third party company and Terms & Conditions may change at any time.
  • Cal Poly is not responsible for damage to personal equipment used in conjunction with Tech Rental equipment.
  • Equipment must be returned in the condition in which it was received. Lost or damaged equipment will be charged to you at current replacement costs.

  • Students: Failure to return items within 1 hour of the scheduled return time will result in late fees of $15 per day.
    • Unpaid fees or equipment damage costs result in the suspension of your equipment rental account, and an academic hold is placed on your student record (affecting your ability to register for classes or graduate).

  • Staff & Faculty: Failure to return items within 24 hours of the scheduled return time, or damage to equipment, can result in the suspension of your account until the next academic quarter. If you fail to return items on time again within the next three academic quarters, your account will be suspended for three academic quarters.
